Army MRAP Vehicles Arrive In Region

Baghdad Area Troops Receive Mine Resistant Vehicles

The Army Mine Resistant Ambush Protected armor vehicles is the newest addition to the war on terror, and has been months in process. Recently the first vehicles began to arrive in numbers being delivered to Baghdad for use by coalition and Iraqi Security forces throughout the region. They are badly needed and were eagerly greeted by the soldiers serving on active duty in Baghdad. The vehicles are the Army’s newest efforts for counter defense as they work to continue patrols in the Baghdad Region.

The new vehicles arrive without any unit training but the soldiers assigned to them will likely learn on the job, using the vehicle as they work the kinks out. The vehicles are designed with a V shaped hull to direct the force of any roadside blasts up and outward, away from soldiers inside and helping to make the occupants inside the MRAP vehicles safe. There is a portion of the soldiers that will be using the vehicles that have had some limited training in the MRAP vehicles, and it is expected that these soldiers will work to train and share their experience and training with their fellow soldiers in the field.
