Coalition Civil Affairs Assist Textile Worker Meeting
The sound of sewing machines that is normally found at the textile factory in Anah was absent, as the women who worked there gathered with a number of area women, along with members of the Marine US Women’s Engagement team, Civil Affairs Team 5, 2nd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 5.
The workers met with members of the Coalition and other female workers to talk about working conditions, city matters and other matters of importance to women.
“We have goals of the IWE program is to get women together and get them talking, to give them a chance to talk about community issues and women’s concerns,†said Captain Christy McCutchan.
Captain McCutchan is the IWE women’s Team Detachment 1 coordinator, and the officer that helped organize the women’s textile meeting and group discussion.
