Navy Reserve Cash Benefits

The Navy gives a number of different types of bonuses to personnel that are looking at joining the military. Some of these bonuses are available to people that want to join the Navy Reserves.
These are bonuses that help encourage people to enlist, or to give people a chance to reenlist. Some of the different bonuses require special skills; others are for those that seek a specific rating or job. No matter what different type of bonus that the Navy pays to a person for enlisting, the bonuses are paid in a specific manner, and its good to know how the bonuses are paid before you join up.

The financial bonuses that are promised are given to people by the Navy Reserve when they finish their initial basic training and active training for duty, often such as Class A School. Most of these bonuses are given to the Servicemember when they reach their first duty station after their basic and initial job specialty training. Often they then qualify for the entire bonus. Sometimes other types of bonuses are paid when they have reached certain goals or accumulated points in their Navy enlisted Career. There are some basic types of bonuses that are typically given by the Navy. Three basic types include; The Prior Service Bonus, the Basic Bonus, and the Selective Conversion Recruiting bonus.

The Basic Bonus- This is a cash basic bonus of up to $20,000 dollars that you receive if you enlist in the active duty or Navy Reserve. If you sign up for six years, then it can often not matter what specific job you receive, it is possible that you will qualify for bonus funds.
The Selective Conversion Bonus- This is a bonus that you will qualify for after your initial enlistment tour of duty, you can qualify for if you reach certain qualifications or if you have a specific skill that is needed, you can qualify for this bonus by changing to a job skill that is highly sought after or is in dire need by the Navy.
