Nuclear Power Enlisted Navy Specialist

One of the most high profile jobs in the United States Navy is the Nuclear Enlisted Specialist. The US Navy is the world leader in the research and development of various Nuclear propulsion and operations of Nuclear power generation. Nuclear propulsion is used on Aircraft Carriers and Cruisers, as well as a variety of Nuclear Submarines. It is a specialized and highly competitive field, but that has one that has a great deal of rewards and challenges associated with it. The US Navy has the privilege and the honor of setting the Bar in the standards that the world uses in nuclear power and nuclear propulsion. Candidates for the rating of Nuclear Power specialist must have excellent science and math skills, as well superior academic skills in order to be able to participate and succeed at Nuclear Power School. Candidates for Navy Nuclear Specialist must have excellent study skills as well as a background in advanced science and mathematics. The training that the Navy will provide for the Nuclear Power Specialist has the advantage of being the most in depth of any program in Nuclear physics on earth. After Navy boot camp you will proceed to nuclear power training that will last over a full year. You will work to become qualified in Nuclear power generation and Nuclear propulsion. After Nuclear power school you will be assigned to a nuclear power plant, either on shore or on a surface Navy vessel. You will perhaps be assigned to be a member of the Navy’s Silent Service, to serve on of the many Nuclear Power submarines that are stationed in the US Navy fleet. Part of the different duties that you will work on include; operating and maintaining nuclear power plant systems, regulating and adjusting nuclear power plant elements by direction, maintaining and monitoring precise Nuclear power reactor chemistry, operating and maintaining nuclear power systems. You will learn and be trained in operating precise radio satellite communication and monitoring equipment, as well as learning a variety of other equipment relating to nuclear power generation. Serving in the Nuclear Power specialties in the US Navy is a high profile job, and it is one that carries a lot of prestige and respect. There is special duty pay and hazard pay, as well as Sea Duty pay. The Navy personnel that are trained for Nuclear Power Propulsion are valued highly, and once trained they are highly prized for their training and expertise.
