Army Military Unit Supply Careers

The Army Supply specialist is the person that is used by the Army to make sure that everything is keep running smoothly. The correct flow of supplies is important to the Army mission. Making sure that the correct supplies are given to the correct people at the correct time is vital to the success and function of the Army overall. Unit Supplies and inventory of Army materials is a big job, but it is one that the skills and training given by the Army allow individuals to excel at their job. The Army Unit Supply clerk works to keep track of all of the different materials used on a daily basis in Army operations. Keeping materials flowing to the personnel and Army men and woman doing their mission is imperative for successful Army missions.

The Army Supply Specialist works to maintain and distribute the inventory of medicine, ammunition, spare parts, food and other materials that the Army uses each and every day. Working in supply is an important function and a job specialty that is always in need of new personnel. The Army military Supply Specialist works to keep the Army moving on schedule, on task, and successful in their mission. Some of the different tasks involved as an Army Supply specialist includes; using inventory equipment, using unit computers, and preparing unit and organizational supply documents. The Army Supply specialist deals with supplying, inventory, and issuing small arms and weapons to crew members by direction. You will work to provide organization for the supplies and materials of the Army and provide ammunition and weapons for Army personnel. You will work both at record keeping, but also using equipment to perform materials management. You will use hand trucks, fork lifts, and work to load and unload supplies and other equipment.

You will work to locate and order materials, and catalog and record performing various property and supply management. You will work to attend Basic Combat training for 9 weeks, at which time you will progress to advanced training. You will attend 6 weeks of Army advanced supply training and learn how to deal with all of the different Army supply operations. You will learn accounting and stock control, storage, movement and proper care of ammunition, procedures for issuing, receiving, storage and shipping of supplies and stock, and procedures for dealing with medicine, medical supplies, and food items.
