The United States Marine Corps ROTC program is an excellent way to receive training and to get funding for your education. It is a method of a person to receive a college education and also to earn a commission in the Marine Corps as a 2nd lieutenant. It is a program that is lucrative in many ways and gives a lot of flexibility to a person who wants to attend the school of their choice and receive ROTC support and funding.

If you earn a scholarship then you can complete the rest of your education with the United States Marine Corps footing the entire bill that includes fees, tuition, and a small stipend monthly for other expenses. Some of the different benefits that are available for a person who earns an Marine Corps ROTC scholarship include; training to become a leader and manager, practical experience and military discipline, expenses and tuition funding help, and other training. Serving in ROTC also gives the Marine Corps a chance to make sure that candidates are worthy of being commissioned officers in the Marine Corps. Marine Corps Reserve Officer Training is featured at a number of colleges and universities around the United States, and Marine Corps ROTC training gives training and provides scholarship funds for young people who participate in the program. There are different levels of Marine Corps ROTC program commitment, if you are not sure if it is something that you want to participate in then you can participate without any commitment. You start the program and attend classes, and learn about the ROTC program, and you can do this for whatever length of time that you wish to. After attending for a period of time, if you want to sign a commitment, or apply for a scholarship with Marine Corps ROTC then you can do so. You have to pass a physical exam, and there are other issues that you have to qualify for, but if you do qualify, then you can apply for a scholarship.

Are you interested in an exciting career in the Military? See if you qualify. Click Here Now!

After you finish your college education you will receive your diploma and then attend the Marine Corps OCS academy to receive your final training before receiving your commission in the Marine Corps as a 2nd Lieutenant. If you are not a scholarship student you can participate up until graduation without making a decision about long-term participation in the Marine Corps.

If you’re interested in the USMC, then you will need to join the Navy ROTC program, since the marines are a branch of the USN. To get the ball rolling you need to contact your school’s NROTC program and let them know that you are considering joining. They will have the best info for getting you set up.

Though I scarcely meet what I would believe to be the minimal standards for acceptance to the 180k Marine NROTC Scholarship, how are my chances in relation to others applying for the same?

The high school I attend does not have an ROTC program of any kind but I am interested in attending a college that does, but there is very little possibility of affording college without morgaging the house and borrowing money that I couldn’t pay back.

I’m very interested joining the marine ROTC. One question though: after I graduate from high school with ROTC then can I join the usmc when I’m 18? Or do I have to wait a few years?

I am a sophomore in highschool and am interested in becoming an officer in the Marine Corp. I was wondering what GPA for different colleges I would need to get a scholarship for college through Marine ROTC? My top college choices are U.F., U.C.F. Auburn University, F.S.U. and Alabama

I have always been interested in joining the Marines but I also want an education the ROTC programs sounds like a great idea. I just have no idea where to begin looking, the school I attend is just a community college and so far the university I’m looking at doesn’t offer the program. Is there a list somewhere with which schools offer a Marine ROTC program?

I am a Freshman in High school and would like to join Navy/Marine ROTC in college. I would like to be an officer in the Marines. I have joined Air Force ROTC in High School because that is what my High School offers. My intention is to study history in college. I am in a state (New Jersey) that doesn’t offcier Navy/Marine ROTC at any State University. Because of school/cost concerns I hope/need to attend an in-state college. What are my options?
Joseph

Are the Marines part of the Navy?

military dot image jacob shelly    Thumb up 0 Thumb down 2

Are there any colleges in california that offer ROTC for the Marine Corp or are all ROTC programs acceptable to any branch of the military?

military dot image Me    Thumb up 1 Thumb down 0

@jacob shelly. teh Marine Corps is a department of teh Navy, so you will need to look for a Naval ROTC program. there are many in California, it being a coastal state. all i can name off the top of my head are UCLA, UC Berkley, U of San Deigo, and USC. you can go to http://www.cnrc.navy.mil/houston/NROTC.htm for more

My son wants to become a Marine. I told hime to got ROTC and become a first Lieutenant and get an education while he is at it. He is an honor roll student in his sophmore year in high school. I am a widow and can not really afford to send him to college so the military is his best opportunity. How can he earn a scolarship.

My son is currently a junior interested in joining the nat’l guard. He also wants to be in the marines. Can he join the nat’l guard as a junior (if I sign its ok) and still be in a ROTC program with the marines when he graduates? Please send any information you can. Thank you!
