Attacks Down 80 Percent In Iraq

General Austin Announces Overall Surge Success Plan Results

The nation of Iraq has experienced a dramatic decrease in the number of attacks. Nearly 80 percent of the attacks have ceased, and the number of attacks in Iraq have dropped from 1200 a week to less than 200 a week, and these continue to drop on a curve.

The overall reduction has also coincided with the number of IED and roadside bombings. They have decreased also by about 70 percent. This has led to an overall success in the safety and security for the entire nation. The Iraqi Security Force has led the effort in the last couple of months, slowly taking over from the Coalition.

Most of the hard fought gains in the security of the region have come with a price. But the ability of the Iraqi Security Forces have been due to hard work. “Most of these gains have been due to the hard work and increased capability of the Iraqi Security forces,” said Lieutenant General Lloyd Austin.

“The Iraqi Security Forces have earned it, due to their hard work and enthusiasm,” said General Austin.

The workers of the region have been able to go to work, the citizens of the region have been able to come out into the sunshine, overall the entire region has worked hard to recover from the former terror filled community that used to be in the region.
