When a person serves as an enlisted Servicemember in the United States Military they work very hard, and they accrue a number of different benefits that are open to them after their military service is completed. It is a specific program that is made to help veterans start or re enter the professional and academic world, and to give them support and encouragement so they can do so assertively and confidently. It is a Department of Education and Veterans Administration joint Federal program that is designed to revitalize and refresh a person, and assist them with different issues. It helps a Veteran brush up on their skills and academic abilities, and gives them the ability to take confidence to complete and enter a number of different educational pursuits. There are several programs involved in the VUB program: Refresher Classes- These are different classes to help give a veteran the confidence in the overall academic ability and skills. It also gives the veteran a chance to brush up on the basics, such as Mathematics, English, History and other subjects. Short Term-There is often short-term classes that give the Veteran the ability to meet a short-term goal. Sometimes this can include such things as getting their HS diploma or a GED or to complete a short-term goal such as vocational training classes or a certification type course.

Educational Financial Aid- This is assistance that a Veteran receives for all the different type of educational funding and financial aid. There are personnel that assist veterans in filing for Federal Financial Aid, as well as helping find other types of educational funding and scholarships that may be available.
