Area Rebuilds As Operation Iraqi Freedom Continues
The area of Sadr City has seen its share of fighting, and it has been an area that has grown weary of fighting and insurgency attacks. The operation Task Force Gold has helped mean a big difference for the Sadr City area, it’s been a turning point in the Operation Iraqi Freedom effort.
Task Force Gold has as its primary mission the responsibility to provide peace, security and an improved quality of life for the residents and citizens of Sadr City. Since its start in May the Task Force Gold Operation has experienced a large level of success.
The Jamilla Market has undergone a rebirth as the efforts of citizens and local Iraqi’s work cooperatively to rebuild and repair their shops and market stalls, and this is being done with the support of the 926th Engineer Coalition Brigade and the support of the local and national Iraqi Government.
By being plugged in and acting as a support for the rebuilding the Coalition is able to help judge and report back to the Iraqi Government on how well the rebuilding efforts in the Sadr City are progressing. This information is vital to the government so they can judge where to use their resources most effectively.

Streets that were previously just filled with garbage and useless are now coming back to life. As things improve the Iraqi Citizens are beginning to take pride in their community and work even harder to rebuild and repair their lives.
