MNF Soldiers Assist Iraqi Security Explosives Search
The Soldiers that are stationed at Camp Taji have worked hard to get the security situation in hand and the overall security is very well compared to a year ago. It is relatively safe to be on the streets in the Baghdad region, and this is due to the efforts of both the Coalition and of the Iraqi security Forces.
Now, much of the security efforts are going toward efforts to find weapons that are in the area. There are many different sets of weapons that are still believed to be in the area, and weapons that are not in the control of the Iraqi Security forces or the Coalition are potentially lethal not only to the joint security forces but also to the citizens.
Soldiers are working to scour the streets and neighborhoods, talking to citizens, and looking for any explosives, ammunition, guns or other items in an effort to get weapons and dangerous explosives off the street. The efforts are being launched as the next logical step in keeping the Iraqi public safe and away from harm from extremist weapons and munitions.

Soldiers from the MNF 25th Infantry Division, 2nd Stryker BCT, 27th Infantry Regiment, 1st Battalion are joining Iraqi Security Forces as partners looking to clear hidden caches of explosives and weapons, and to find un exploded ordnance that may be hidden along side roadways, in homes or in public spaces.
