Navy Intelligence Analyst operations are conducted by experts in the special operations field. The US Navy specially trains personnel in the Intelligence and signals interpretation field. Being able to read and examine the intelligence that we receive allows the Naval to know what its missions will be. The Signals Intelligence Analyst in The Navy is the specialty that is responsible for serving as an interpreter when it comes to intelligence data. As a SI Naval Analyst you will be called upon to report and analyze data and communications that are received, and then to report on this data in a variety of ways.
As an Navy SI analyst, you may be called to:
-Maintain files reports and databases based on foreign intelligence signal intercepts.
-Keep logs of intercepted signals.
-Prepare intelligence reports based on various signal intercepts.
-Locate and pin down the source of foreign radio signals.
-Study the source and veracity of radio signals to get information about the organization and tactics of the enemy.
-Report and Analysis of foreign intelligence information, signal intercepts, and other communications.
After 9 weeks at Basic Combat Naval training, you will be sent to 18 weeks of individual training school for Naval Intelligence Analyst specialty. You will have a chance to work in both simulated and real life conditions, as well as classroom work. You will have a chance to put your training to use in practicing various Naval Intelligence scenarios. Some of the training you will receive including; Identifying various security intelligence operations, working to identify elements and order of battle, using Technical references to examine and analyze military communication information. You will also work to establish operational patterns and target identification. If you have an interest in finding the answers to puzzles, like working with radio equipment and are able to remain alert while performing repetitive tasks, then working in the Naval Intelligence Signals field may be for you. Personnel that are the most successful in this Naval SI specialty are those who are patient and have a long attention span.
