Milwaukee Voted the Most Patriotic City

Milwaukee Voted the Most Patriotic CityThe Paralyzed Veterans of America, an organization that encourages networking and patriotism for injured vets, holds a competition each year to determine which of America’s cities are the most patriotic.  For this year’s competition Milwaukee has been graced with the honorable title.
With a population of 600,000 people, Milwaukee constantly acknowledges the importance of patriotism for American citizens.  The city has the most elaborate celebrations for Veterans Day, when there are several fund raisers, free meals for Veterans and brilliant military displays.  Over 15,000 veterans and their families feel like royalty when Milwaukee celebrates the holiday.
The Paralyzed Veterans of America are also impressed with the city’s National Veterans Wheelchair Games, an event that acknowledges the disabled vet, who may feel ignored by both the military and society in general.  There is also an annual Operation Freedom picnic where all types of vets come together to celebrate the soldiers overseas that are fighting for their freedom.
The city’s VA hospital is also exceptional since it provides top-notch health care for the nation’s veterans.  This is in contrast to other VA hospitals across the country, which tend to be stereotyped for less-than-average service.  Indeed, no person that has risked their lives for their country’s well-being should have anything but the best when it comes to their healthcare.
The city’s mayor and its people are extremely proud of the award.  But even if they didn’t get official acknowledgement, they would still continue doing what is necessary to honor America’s servicemen and women.
