Violence Ebbs As Security Improves

Ramadi Now One Of Safest Cities In Iraqi

For many years the city of Ramadi was one of the harshest and most dangerous cities in Iraq. This was due not only to the security situation but also because insurgents had adopted the area as a jumping off spot and a base of operations.

Now, many people are pleased that the security in Ramadi is some of the safest anywhere in Iraq. The efforts at rebuilding the city of Ramadi were once seen as impossible, and many people claimed it would never happen because of all of the fighting and danger from insurgent and terror attacks.

Now, construction and rebuilding of Ramadi is booming, and the region is being regarded as perhaps one of the safest cities in Iraq at the current time. The country and region is working hard to transition from an area of violence and battlefield fighting to one of freedom and healing. While the focus has been on Ramadi, and the surrounding Al Anbar province, much of the efforts now are beginning to be re focused on the surrounding countryside and smaller villages surrounding Ramadi.
