New Partnership Increases Education Opportunities for Soldiers

New Partnership Increases Education Opportunities for SoldiersThe military has always been associated with offering several higher education opportunities, but for some factions, the options can be limited.  This will not be the case now as the Army has initiated the “College of the American Soldier” a new partnership that will allow soldiers educational opportunities from 10 colleges.

The College of the American Soldier partnership is designed to help soldiers earn either their Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree quickly and hassle-free.  Schools offering Associate’s degrees include: Coastline, Barstow, Limestone and Thomas Edison State.
On the other hand, schools offering Bachelor’s degrees include: Maryland University, Strayer, Park, Limestone, Franklin, Austin Peay, Empire State and Thomas Edison College.

The partnership helps both the soldier and the institution, at least according to Gen. William S. Wallace’s thinking.  By encouraging more soldiers to participate in the process of higher learning, colleges further promote the general ideals that getting an education is important for all of America’s population.  Soldiers can use what they gain through their academic career both during their time as a soldier and when they retire.

Additionally, the partnership allows soldiers to earn college credits on the basis of their previous military experience and training.  This helps save a considerable amount of time for the soldier, which may already be limited due to obligations associated with their military career.

Through these developments soldiers will become more mentally fit for the battle fit.  This will become quite an asset as fighting becomes more integrated with computers and other types of advanced technologies.
