Pipeline Repaired For Thousands Of Citizens
Many different services and areas of infrastructure have been restored as the overall security has improved in the Ramadi region. As the security has improved, the members of the local community have been encouraged to support the Iraqi Security Services, and the members of the Coalition. Teams of Iraqi Workers have been working with Coalition workers and contract American workers to repair and locate different elements of a local water pipeline.
The Water pipeline is a vital link to the overall restoration of the local community. It provides water to more than 450,000 local citizens and when it is restored successfully it will serve the members of the community, as well as providing water for local industry, and businesses that need a reliable source of water to grow.
The repairs to the pipeline will require more than $1 million dollars and materials from a local water storage area in Camp Ramadi have already been transferred to the control of the Ramadi Water Directorate, and the General Director of Water.
Ramadi is the capital of the province of Al Anbar, and it is a city that straddles the Euphrates River. It would appear that in such a case water would be abundant. But the water from the Euphrates is not safe to drink, hence the importance of this pipeline.

The challenge of the pipeline and other water infrastructures is deciding what water reconstruction issues to work on first, but as the local Iraqi Government becomes more active, they are able to prioritize the operations that are required by the needs of their people.
