US Provides Hands On Iraqi Healthcare Aid

Training And Assistance Given To Iraqi Providers

The health care in Iraqi has been recovering along with the rest of the nation. The hospitals in Iraq have worked hard to provide excellent health care to their residents, often taking materials that are less than what are ideal and making do.

Soldiers from the 225th Brigade support Battalion recently visited with nurses, doctors and medical staff of the Taji health clinic and brought with them medical equipment and supplies for the clinic.

The healthcare in Iraq has suffered a great deal over the last seven years but slowly, since the beginning of the surge; coalition forces have joined with different civilian American agencies to provide assistance and support for the hospitals and health clinic that make up the majority of the health care in Iraq.

The health care clinic in Taji is in the Taji Qada, to the northwest of Baghdad, and it is the only source of government healthcare for many miles around. It has a new emergency room, and a new labor and delivery pregnancy room have been added.

With the addition of other modern equipment the Taji is looking more and more like a hospital and less like a health clinic. It has the support of several coalition health drives, and its staff has a number of doctors now that make it a very professional facility.
