Sons Of Iraq Work Cooperatively With MNF Troops
Baghdad has had a number of different security efforts that have made the city a great deal safer than it was 18 months ago. The efforts of the Coalition, along with the efforts of the Sons of Iraq have worked together to solve many of the different problems that have plagued Baghdad.
Previously, Baghdad has been a hot spot of difficulty, with different members of the insurgency and Al Qaeda maintaining a veil of hurt and anger over many members of the city. There were large numbers of local citizens that lived in fear, and did not cooperate with the coalition or with Iraqi security forces.
As time has passed, the progress of training for the Iraqi Security forces has increased. This has led to the professionalism of the training increasing, and the ability of Iraqi Security Forces to maintain security on their own has increased.
Now, when citizens discover ammunition or explosives, they feel safe enough to turn them over to the Iraqi Security Forces. This level of trust has worked well, and it continues to increase.

Recently a large set of two explosive caches were brought to the Sons of Iraq. The sons of Iraq led members of the Iraqi Security Forces to the weapons, and they were uncovered. This kind of cooperation did not exist, even six months ago, but has resulted in a cooperative effort to keep the region, as well as the Baghdad area safe.
