Baghdad Soldiers Successful In Arrest
During a number of combat raids, there were five suspected terrorist criminals detained and handed over to the Coalition by the Iraqi Security Forces. The ISF mounted a series of patrol raids in the Rashid District of Southern Baghdad, which led to the arrest and capture of the five accused criminal suspects.
Soldiers from the Coalition 4th Infantry, 1st BCT, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Battalion work with the Iraq Security Forces to take custody of different suspects that they arrest. The coalition transports them to secure facilities where they are debriefed, interviewed, and where it can be determined if they can be held for trial by the Iraqi courts, or by the US military.
The coalition remains committed to their efforts to assist and support the ISF troops in their security efforts, and their successes in the Rashid District has been making a difference. Using combined patrols, the ISF has grown in professionalism, as well as assuming the lion’s share of security effort for the province.
Most of the patrols are mounted on the basis of information that comes into the Iraqi Security Force headquarters. The decision is made by the members of the ISF forces, and they either go solo or with the support of coalition forces.

The coalition works to provide the logistics and support for the Iraqi Security Forces, and they have been the training authority for the different Iraqi Security Forces.
