Chairman Views Warfighting ExerciseRepresentative Skelton Tours USJFCOM Center Suffolk, Virginia The Future of U.S. Joint Forces was seen recently by some of our civilian leadership during a tour in Virginia.  The Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee had a chance to observe the future of war and joint military fighting exercises first hand during his visit to U.S. Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM). Chairman Representative Ike Skelton (D-Mo.) had an opportunity to tour the USJFCOM’s facility.  The Joint Technology Exploration Center (JTEC) was examined by Congressman Skelton during his visit to Hampton Roads. In addition to the Joint Technology Center, all five services have facilities and buildings in the Hampton Roads area. Representative Skelton toured the USJFCOM Command to try to gain a better grasp and understanding of the joint mission and operational plan.  The operational concepts demonstrated to the Congressman showed off what the command is doing to ready itself to equip the joint warfighter in the present, and also in the future. Accompanying him on his tour and visit was Representative J. Randy Forbes (R-VA) who is the elected official from the Suffolk Virginia area in Congress.  Congressman Forbes also is the leader of the Congressional Modeling and Simulation Caucus. Skelton visited the command, which is responsible for military transformation, to gain a better understanding of joint operational concepts and to see the work the command is doing to prepare the joint warfighter for the future.  “Its impressive to see in person, one has to see these things in the flesh to properly understand them.  I am glad I came,” stated Congressman Skelton.
