Death Toll In Iraq Falls

Death Toll In Iraq FallsLowest Fatality Rate Since Just Before 2006 Baghdad- Iraq The amount of Iraqi people who were killed in the course of the Iraq War fell to its lowest point in over a year last month.  Records show that fatalities totaled just 718 confirmed deaths, which is the lowest figure since just before the bombing of a Shiite Shrine touched off a barrage of senseless killing in 2006. These statistics come from military totals, which also point to the fact that overall violence has fallen to a two year low, but the report still indicates that Iraqi citizens are still dying in large numbers. “While a significant downward trend, it still needs to be taken into perspective,” stated Richard Garfield, a professor at Columbia University in New York City.  “We have gone from a view that a horrific type or level of murder to a lower level but still a very bad level.  “Its an improvement but not a reason to be out celebrating” stated Mr. Garfield.  Mr. Garfield is also a manager of health and nutrition for the world health association. At the levels seen as low or very low. thee is still a number of huge excessive deaths that are likely to occur. This month has been the third consecutive decline in the Iraqi Civilian Death Rate since August.   While encouraging, there is still much work to be done.  A huge decline in the fatality rate is encouraging, but so is the goal of encouraging more Iraqi’s, more businesses, and more people to be self-sufficient.
