Pump Station Assists Water District

Coalition Troops Give Aid And Support

Much of the Earth is made up of water, and it is in fact the majority of the earth’s surface. The residents of North Baghdad have often been without viable sources of drinking water, and it has been an ongoing problem. The Tigris river flows in the region but there is no way for the water to get to the crops and at times the farmers in the region have even been as desperate to have to use sewer water for their crops.

Until now.

The Coalition has worked very hard to assist the community to the north of Baghdad, and it has paid off. The Civil affairs soldiers with the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry to repair and work on a pumping station that has been out of order.

The pumping station has had seven pumps, but only one was working.

The current project will soon have all seven pumps up and running, and water will be restored to the Adhamiyah region, and they will have water for many different uses.

The farmers will have water for their crops, and they will also have potable water with purification methods brought to the region by the Coalition.

This is only the first step to solve the problem, and it means that the specific pump station will not only be refurbished, but they will work in conjunction with the other new equipment and purification supplies to give the entire region water.
