Adhamiyah Village Settles In Safety

Suleikh Neighborhood Adjusts To New Positive Security Conditions

Slowly the signs are all there. People playing in parks on the weekends, youths engaging in friendly soccer matches, families openly eating together on a picnic in the desert evenings. The situation in different villages and neighborhoods around Iraq are beginning to coalesce, and show the inner peace that is reality.

Oh how much has changed in a relatively short period. The people and citizens of Iraq have began to take ownership and responsibility, and the security and safety that they are able to provide takes on a whole new meaning. As the citizens are willing to report when criminals and insurgents come in, then there is no safe haven, and everyone benefits.

The coalition has worked very hard, to train, to supervise, and to insure that things run smooth. Most of the time the Coalition units have been able to focus on new things, like helping find supplies for schools, and arranging rebuilding and construction projects.

Members of the 3rd brigade Combat team, 4th Infantry, Striker brigade soldiers recently ventured out on a particularly robust hot 115 degree day, to visit with the local citizens, to accompany the ISF soldiers on their daily security patrols, and to assess needs.

The patrol was part of the effort ongoing to support the ISF forces, and to help the community find other new ways to grow, and to build.

One of the things that the Coalition soldiers have participated in has been the rebuilding of the Adhamiyah fish market, and support for vendors in the marketplace.
