Joint Coalition And Iraqi Security Forces Cooperate

The best thing when you are setting up a military security zone, and maintaining the overall security in an area is when you do such a good job that you literally work yourself out of a job. Such is the case in the Southern part of Baghdad.

Members of the coalition forces are preparing to transfer command for the Southern Baghdad authority not with another unit from the coalition, but this time to transfer the command to the Iraqi Army.

The members and soldiers of the 17th Iraqi Army Division is preparing to assume command for the area from the members and soldier units of the 3rd BCT, 101st Airborne Division, Air Assault.

“We have a plan to transfer full operational control and command authority to our friends and comrades in arms, the 17th Iraqi Army,” said Colonel Dominic Caraccilo.

Colonel Caraccilo is the Commander of 3rd BCT, 101st Airborne Division.

Colonel Caraccilo has seen much of the Operation Iraqi Freedom from different perspectives, he has fought and commanded the 3rd BCT through much of the last year and a half.
