Prior Service Citizens Successful At Security Endeavors
The Iraq Security Services, both the Iraqi Army and the Iraq National Police have done well in recruiting in the last several months, but as time has gone on in some regions its been difficult to find willing recruits.
Because of this they have been working hard to be open to former members of the Iraqi Army, those that are younger and not retirement age. The Iraqi Ministry of Defense and the 8th Iraqi Army have been holding mobile recruiting drives. These drives have been very successful in finding candidates that are willing to serve, or to get jobs with different elements of the ISF security forces.
While the different regions in Iraq have slowly began to get more and more employment, the jobs with the Iraq Security forces have undergone a revamping with the coalition influence, and especially since the Surge last year.
The jobs with the ISF were formerly seen as being tools of the Saddam regime. Even after the fall of Saddam many of them were still seen as the enemy, and this led to a lot of the people and citizens not being willing to join.
