Ramadi Union Teachers Reform Group

Former Education Union Recreated

The teachers and instructors that work in the village of Ramadi began to meet recently to discuss different methods of education and to increase their professionalism. They decided that they wanted to form a union instruction support group.

They have obtained a building from the Coalition and began to meet on a regular basis. This is the reopening of the teachers union group that met formerly during the end of the Saddam regime, but with the fighting surrounding Operation Iraqi Freedom their former union building was destroyed.

The efforts of Ramadi Mayor Latif Obaid was one of the reasons that the new building has been successful. It’s a place where teachers and different instructors can gather; discuss new ideas and educational methods, as well as for meetings and special activities.

The teacher union manager is a man named Abdullah Abd Shaib and he has worked with the mayor, and members of the Coalition to obtain the new building.

This is the building that will put teachers in position to improve themselves to increase professionally, and to be able to be better instructors. As teachers travel to different conventions and bring back skills and training tips, then they are able to share these with their fellow instructors.
