Al Qaeda Successfully Targeted

Coalition And Iraqi Security Forces Cooperate In Successful Security

One of the main focuses for the Iraq Security Forces has been to make sure that the forces of Al Qaeda do not get a foothold back in Iraq. The joint efforts of the coalition and the ISF forces have been doing well. Different area in the south near Baghdad have been targeted with special patrols on the part of the coalition, and it has yielded success in keeping insurgents out of the region.

There was a precision raid mounted recently near Khanaquin, that yielded two suspected terrorists. Khanaquin is about 150 kilometers to the south of Kirkuk, and in the past it has been a hotbed of insurgent activities.

By operating in the lead the Iraqi Security Forces have been gaining in confidence and they have done extremely well in dealing with the security issues. The coalition has grown into the areas of infrastructure, rebuilding and as a support agency, they are there to assist if needed but for the most part they merely observe.

Iraqi Security Forces and Coalition forces have been able to deal with situations as a team, and cooperatively they have build strong relationships with the local community. This has helped in gaining the trust of the community, and also to build trust in establishing new business and industrial ventures.
