Community Peace Maintained By Vigilance

Area Near Baghdad International Airport Patrolled Each Night

The security of the greater Baghdad area has been the responsibility of the coalition since before the surge. And while it may be the responsibility of the Iraqi Security Forces, for now it remains job one for the soldiers of Task Force Vigilant.

The soldiers from the MNF Coalition forces go out every night and patrol the region around the Baghdad International Airport, and they are the ones who stand the wall against the Insurgency and members of the terrorist forces.

“We would not be experiencing this level of success if we were not doing daily and nightly patrols,” said Pvt Adam Burrell, one of the Task Force Vigilant Team Drivers.

TF Task Force Vigilant works to continue to patrol the Baghdad International region, and it is being very successful to ensure the community remains safe. In addition to patrols they work to keep performing housing assessments, and to enforce curfew near the Victory Base.

The majority of the citizens in the region believe that their living conditions have been improved. And it is their opinion that their lives have improved, also.
