Seventh Iraqi Army Infantry Patrol Roads

Security Maintained In Region of Camp Mejid

One of the major road areas in Iraq have been maintained by the Coalition, but slowly the responsibility for the roadway security has been given over to the members of the ISF forces. Members of the 7th Iraqi Army have been trained and put into key locations, and they are successfully providing security for many different areas.

Part of dealing with roadway security has been teaching the members of the Iraqi Army how to provide route clearance security duty. They have worked very hard to learn from different coalition forces to learn clearance mission and independent route clearance procedures.

After about five months of intense one on one training, the Iraqi Army has proven that it has the capability and ability to perform the security duties in the region. The ability to conduct operations in the Diyala, Basrah, Ninewah, and Nasinyah areas have improved slowly, and now the Iraqi Army has shown a consistency and potential that did not exist a number of months ago.
