Coalition Supports New Tiger Cubs To Zoo

Baghdad Zoo Receives Two Bengal Tiger Cubs

There are a lot of different activities for families to participate inside of Iraq, but the most recent addition is the Baghdad Zoo. There are now two new Bengal Tiger cubs that have been donated to the Zoo for patrons to enjoy.

The Tiger Cubs are a goodwill gesture from the North Carolina Conservators Center that provides a breeding are for endangered species.

The Coalition has provided a liaison with different groups, but none is as rewarding as the most recent success in obtaining these two Tiger Cubs from North Carolina for the Baghdad Zoo.

The Cubs are just under 2 years old, and they each weigh more than 150 pounds apiece. The Bengal Tiger is an animal that is on the endangered species protection list, so being able to successfully place these two tiger cubs in Iraqi is a real miracle.

The Coalition has looked for different ways to assist in rebuilding the infrastructure in Iraq. Acting as liaison officers for business and industry is one thing, but being successful in getting Bengal Tiger cubs for an active Iraqi Zoo is quite an accomplishment.

“We are excited this is a great example of trust building with America,” said Dr. Adel Salman Mousa, the Baghdad Zoo director.
