Army Engineers Finish StrongNumerous Projects Headed For Successful Completion Tallil U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has made strong plans to finish a number of projects before the end of the year.  Army Engineers are involved in over a dozen projects assisting Iraqi civilians to rebuild their infrastructure. Commander Mike Lang, U.S. Navy Officer in Charge of the Office, stated that the intent would be to end the year strong.  The plan is to close out quite a number of active unfinished projects by years end.  This office is one that serves Iraq’s nine southern provinces. Three primary Health Centers (PHC) that are located in Dhi Qar are tops on the list.  These three centers are among nearly thirty-six PHC centers across Iraq that are almost done.  These centers will provide medical, dental and emergency services across Southern Iraq. Another project on the list to be finished is one in Al-Warka.  It is a very efficient, compact water reclamation and treatment center.  The clean water it will provide is slated to be used in the nearby village of Al- Warka. This project involved construction of two water units, each providing two hundred cubic meters per hour of water.  These compact units and nearly three and a half kilometers of pipe make up the total network. Total cost for the project is nearly one million dollars. The pedestrian Bridge in Al-Harbia, also in the Dhi Qar province is also being constructed.  This nearly quarter million dollar project will give pedestrian traffic a safe means of getting across the Euphrates River.
