The Basic allowance for quarters or housing tends to be the second largest amount of funds or compensation that a soldier gets. Every Soldier that enlists in the Air Force receives a BAQ or BAH allowance, to pay for the housing that they have.
Other Allowances-There are other types of allowances that are available to enlisted Servicemembers, some of which are not as well known. Everyone knows about Medical Care, Pay, Food and even the housing allowances, but there are also some minor allowances that are not as well known. One example includes: Clothing Allowance- Each soldier in the Air Force, as well as its sister services receive an amount on an annual basis to pay for clothing and uniform needs.

This is an amount to pay for the most part for duty required military uniforms, but in some situations the Servicemember qualifies for money that will pay for some types of civilian clothing. For duty or jobs that require civilian dress the Air Force does pay a clothing allowance for that also.
