Kirkuk Police Academy Trains Females

Academy Accepts First Class For Female Police Officers

The Kirkuk Police Academy has been turning out candidates for the last year, and it has proven to be very successful in its ability to train Police Officers and members of the security forces. It is located outside of Kirkuk City, and the Kirkuk Police Academy has become the regional training facility for Iraqi Police.

Now, it is being the site of another first. The first female members of the Iraqi Police Forces have begun their training at the Kirkuk academy.

Up to now, there have not been any female members of the Iraqi Police, but now there are 37 members of the Iraqi community that have began the first days of training.

The Female members of the Iraqi Police will work at checkpoints, and government buildings located throughout the province. It will also be a valuable perspective to offer to allow different areas to succeed.

Up to now if there are females that are passing checkpoints, either they have to be allowed by without being searched, or they have to be searched by female members of the coalition.

There just have no one available to search Iraqi females, and it has caused an increase of female bombers because the insurgents have discovered the security shortfall.
