Housing Grant Benefits For Veterans

The Veterans Department has made a number of different benefits more accessible in the last few years for Veterans. Laws that govern the VA benefits, their levels and their accessibility to Servicemembers have been changed, and in many cases the benefits have been increased, especially for those Servicemembers that have been injured or disabled while on active duty. Up to very recently, it was only possible for Servicemembers and Veterans to access the VA programs for housing grant support a single time. Now it is often possible for Veterans to access housing programs, in some cases, up to three different times, as long as the total stays inside of the limits that are prescribed by law. In the last year Congress has acted to change these rules, making them more easily accessed by Servicemembers, and Veterans who wish to take advantage of the VA Housing Grant program. Many Servicemembers qualify for the grants but have never used them, or because they received less than the entire amount in an initial use have believed that they did not qualify for any additional funding. Since its inception in the 1940s there have been over six hundred Fifty million dollars distributed in grants to wounded and disabled veterans. Veterans who have been injured while on active duty qualify, and have more than earned this important benefit. These housing grants are administered with an eye toward providing for individual and specific needs. Special needs, such for Servicemembers that have lost a limb while on active duty, or who have other handicaps and disabilities, especially ones that resulted from active duty are more actively being supported now. Now, with the changes in the law, if a Veteran has not reached the maximum funding amount they can reapply and be eligible for more Housing Grant funding. Veterans who are eligible for this benefit are those with Service related disabilities. Veterans who receive VA compensation for “Total and Permanent disability” are qualified to receive these VA housing grants. Are you interested in an exciting career in the Military? See if you qualify. Click Here Now! There is addition increased benefits for Veterans who are not disabled, or who do not need special or adaptive services. The amount of a VA home housing loan for a qualified military Veteran has been increased to $417,000 dollars, for a former Servicemember that qualifies under the VA home loan program. These funds exist to modify their homes, or in some cases the home loans can be used to construct or purchase home for our brave Veteran heroes.

I am a Veteran and in November 2007, I had paid out $40,000.00 to get approved plans from the city of Los Angeles to remodel my home to house up to twelve veterans. A construction loan was approved and cancelled due to the recession. I have been trying to find a grant to do the project but have been unable to do so. All government grants are for governmental agencies for twenty four persons or more….Is there a grant source available?

I was in the military in 1978 during desrt storm and desert shield. When I went into the military in 1978 I was told that I just missed receving the GI Bill. While I was over in Weisbaden Germany and getting to out process out of the military VEAP came out for the soldiers so I did not get anything for my education. I would like to know if there is any way that I can receive the GI Bill and be reinstated for education usage…
