Incoming Soldiers Given Reaction Force Demonstration
There is a lot of different changes that are occurring in Iraq with the end of the Surge approaching. As the level of soldiers and military staffing changes, the members of the Coalition that are involved changes to groups of soldiers from other countries.
Recently the Salvadorian Coalition soldiers held a demonstration of reaction force actions for incoming soldiers. Their reaction force demonstration was held at Bunker 7 and serves to show how the Salvadorian Cuscatlan Battalion functions.
A fake explosion as well as the swarming of the Cuscatlan battalion soldiers upon fake terrorists were among the different elements that were demonstrated.
The Coalition Salvadorian battalion do not have armored vehicles that they can train on before they reach Iraq, so using the coalition MRAP and other armored vehicles is all new for them.
They train at home in El Salvador on unarmored jeeps and then try to adjust when they reach Iraq.
The Salvadorian Soldiers train hard, and the adjustment is not as difficult as some people would believe. They are very adaptable, and their hard work and dedication serves them well.
The training that they do at home gives them the discipline and unit cohesion to be able to adjust to different equipment, and the Cuscatlan battalion has been one of the most successful units in the coalition forces.

Many of their soldiers have requested second tours of duty, and have been very successful in dealing with the security and battlefield responsibilities found in the Iraqi Theater.
