Progress Set After Improvement In Security

As the security in Iraq progresses, the citizens are working hard to engage in political, economic and development progress. The Iraqi Security Forces have been a vital part of these games, and they continue to support the citizen and governmental efforts in these areas.

The progress among these different issues are connected, as one area improves, the others tend to get better also.

Army Brigadier General Jeffery Buchanan is the deputy-commanding General for the MNF division operations, and he commended the efforts on the part of the Iraqi Government, and the Iraqi Security forces to continue the positive societal growth in these areas.

Troops under General Buchanan operate in the south of Baghdad, and they are charged with assisting in six key areas; defeating violent extremists, transferring security eventually to the Iraq government and Iraqi Security forces, assisting with training and professionalism of the ISF forces, disrupting Iran lethal aid coming into Iraq, securing the Iraqi population, and assisting in the economic and governance development of Iraq.

Each of these areas has experienced a large amount of success, and it has been evident as the months continue.

The most rewarding of these missions has been the professionalism and growth of the Iraqi Security Forces.
