Coalition Joins In Opening Sadr City Center

Iraqi Assistance Center Begins Operations

The Security situation continues to heal in the Sadr City Region of Iraq, and recently the coalition assisted with the creation of the Iraqi citizen Assistance Center. It was a low-key opening, no ceremonies were held, no ribbons cut, no speeches were given.

The Iraqi Assistance Center is housed in a modular trailer located near the Sadr City District Advisory Council building. Iraqi citizens go to file condolence claims and also to file for damage claims and losses suffered due to combat and battle between enemy elements and the Coalition.

The second client that applied at the new location was a family seeking help for his family and his son. The Father was going over different documents that would help prove their claims.

The past four months the claims that have been presented at the Iraqi Assistance Center have been worked on by members of the Coalition at the Joint Security Station Sadr City.

The people were hesitant to apply for support benefits because some of the damages have been done by collateral damage from the action of the Coalition. Citizens believed that the coalition would be angry, but nothing could be further from the truth.

The coalition was pleased to have the opportunity to help citizens having claims or who have had their homes damaged by battle, and the Iraqi assistance Center now is a central location allowing Iraqi citizens to receive assistance with their claims.
