Enlisted Weather Air Force Specialist

In the modern era of technology, one of the most important jobs that are sometimes overlooked in the US Air force is the Weather Apprentice. The Air Force Weather Apprentice specialist is a pretty straight forward job specialty, but one that is at the same time an art, but also a science. The Air Force Weather Apprentices uses a system of training that allows him to utilize equipment, observations and training to try and predict what the weather will be. It is self explanatory what knowing the weather does for the military, but there are a lot of different areas that accurate weather prediction is necessary, and the specialist that serves in this important job skill are relied upon for their skill and accuracy. The Air Force provides training and in depth preparation to assist in developing the finely honed and expert skills necessary to predict and forecast the weather. Air Force Weather Apprentices have advanced college level training and instruction to allow them to predict and forecast the weather trends, approaching weather systems and weather environments that are expected in military support services. The US military operates on a number of different operational tempos, and knowing what to expect and being prepared for the coming weather is an important part of any military mission. The Air Force uses accurate real time weather forecasts, and share their weather forecasting information with other sister services and other US and Coalition military units. The Job of Air Force Weather Forecaster and Weather Apprentice is a challenging job choice, but one that has a lot of satisfaction as you begin to learn how to make mother nature work for you. You will learn how to analyze and forecast different weather elements such as atmospheric wind, pressure, visibility, and clouds. One of the skills that you will gain will be to learn how to operate and use a radar weather console and how to properly use a Pilot-to-Metro type, high frequency radio. You will have instruction and training on how to read and interpret various different digital and computerized systems that aid you in forecasting the Weather.
