Fallujah Receive Coalition Forces Aid

Commerce Aided By Road Construction Project For Trucks

One of the newest construction projects that have been began by the coalition has been the road construction project in Fallujah near Entry Control Point 1A. It was begun to help solve some of the different issues that commercial trucks have trying to enter the city.

Civil Affairs Team 2, 11th Marines, 2nd Battalion along with other elements of the Coalition have progressed about three weeks into the repaving efforts, and when the road is done it will stand as another project began, completed and yielding success for the entire region.

Many of the large trucks that bring supplies into Fallujah have to travel another route because the road is in such poor condition. The coalition has identified a number of construction projects, and this is the first of several that have been earmarked for repair.

The new road will be a straight shot, a direct route that replaces the former winding pothole laden route. The old route has had a lot of problems, and the structural integrity has been damaged along with a number of deep holes, bumps and debris.
