Thousands Support Troops In Annual Walk

Support Fantastic For Freedom Walk 2008 The support of the American people has never been as evident as it was recently for the annual US National American Supports You Freedom Walk. The walk began at the Arlington National Cemetery and ended at the Pentagon, where the airplane crashed and killed 184 people in the tragic events of September 11th, 2001. On that day over 3,000 people lost their lives, and Deputy Defense Secretary Gordon R. England addressed the crowd at the end of the walk. He spoke about the different things that bind people together during times of adversity, and how the seven years that has passed since September 11th, 2001. Each year walks are held across the nation, there are nearly 330 similar walks held across the United States, and in 12 foreign countries. Each of the walks commemorates the sacrifice that the innocent men and women made that lost their lives on that day. The Nation has remained safe since that day, but the danger remains. The brave men and women that serve in the United States Armed Services are serving and deserve a debt of gratitude from the members of society for their service. The one mile walk is held each year to celebrate the freedom that we enjoy in the United States, and each of the walkers represent the different citizens across the entire United States.
