Wasit Agriculture Aided By Americans

Texas A&M Team Gives Support To Iraqi Farmers

As Iraq becomes more and more independent, there are more opportunities that become available for Americans and members of the coalition to give support and aid. Recently members of the Texas A&M University sent members from their Borlaug Institute to work on giving support and assistance to farmers in Iraq.

The first part of the process has been to send members to survey the scene from the Air. Using Aerial surveillance, the team from Texas hope to be able to sit with members from the Iraqi community and also members of the Iraqi government to plan a method of attack, and to be able to set goals for rebuilding and constructing different projects.

There are a lot of different agricultural issues and projects that can be accomplished, and as the region becomes more and more safe, then there are more chances for groups and the Coalition to help out.

The members of Texas team Borlaug each focus on different issues and specialities, and they give an assessment that can be used to help the Iraqi’s make valid and accurate plans, to know what the best things and most effective goals for building the agriculture of Iraq.
