Medical Clinic Evaluated By Baroness

Baroness Of Winterbourne Looks At Clinic

With the different advances that are being accomplished in Iraq, many of the countries that make up the coalition seek to inspect the progress being made as time passes. Occasionally members of the British Government go to Iraq, to find out the progress being made.

Recently Baroness Emma Nicholson of Winterborne, a member of the United Kingdom House of Lords and a British politician visited the medical clinic in Bayaa, in the west part of the Rashid District.

The clinic has a staff of 18 doctors, 18 dentists, and a number of nurses, medics and pharmacists. The clinic has been operational for over 20 years, but with the fighting and situation in the nation, it had fallen into disrepair.

Part of the effort over the last two years by the coalition has been restoring and rebuilding the clinic. But much of the equipment is outdated, and old, and it has a limited capacity to assist people because of this.

The inspection by Baroness Nicholson will assist the clinic, she is a international humanitarian, and she will be able to help gain financial support and assistance for the clinic internationally.

Despite its limitations, the Baroness was impressed with the efforts by the clinic. She is a specialist in Youth and has worked in humanitarian issues for many years.
