Various Families Coming Home From Syria Receive Aid
Several Families were slowly making their way home from Syria, discouraged, sitting beside the road near Forward Operating base Falcon, when the members of the Iraqi Security Forces encountered them on a foot Patrol near Baghdad.
These families were displaced from Syria, with all of their worldly possessions, waiting with no place to go, they had left their homes two years ago and were unsure where to go.
The morning of September 15th, the Iraqi Policemen found these families and saw a chance to help out.
The patrols got out of their vehicles, and greeted the members of the families. Staff Brigadier General Bahaa, commander of the Iraqi Army 5th Brigade, 2nd National Police Division, and began to interview the families.
The fathers of the three families talked about their plight, and requested help.
The families had left two years ago when their families received death threats. General Bahaa asked why the families were returning the fathers said: “ Because the security has increased and things seem safe,” said one of the fathers.
General Bahaa ordered his soldiers to load the belonging of the three families, and they transported them back to their former homes, located about 20 miles from where they were found.
The families were relieved, they had been dumped there by members of the Syrian Army, who transported them across the border and left them in a pile.

More and more families are making their way back to Iraqi from Syria, and the members of the Iraqi Army are learning how to help them in meaningful ways.
