Serving with the Armed Forces in the United States military entitles a person to a variety of different benefits. Many different types of benefits are well known, but there are some different types of employment for Servicemembers that are headed for deployment. Some people feel that joining the military is like joining a very large family, albeit a fairly dysfunctional family at times. While the analogy of a family may not be exactly true, it is true that there are a lot of opportunities to receive assistance and aid that are open to all, to every Servicemember regardless of rank or rating. There are some examples of different benefits, and these include: Per Diem- There are different types of per Diem, but they are all basically reimbursement to help pay for living and travel expenses. You should deal with your command directly when it comes to per Diem, you can take positive advantage of your mode of transportation in some cases. If you are able to transport yourself and your belongings, including your dependants and other materials cheaper, you often can keep the difference. You will qualify for payment by whichever mode of transportation the government deems reasonable. Advance Pay- Sometimes you can get a advance on your future military pay. It normally is limited to up to 90 days, or in some cases up to 4 months or 120 days of pay. As you go out onto active duty, you will be assigned to a variety of possible duty stations, and as you are deployed you will encounter a number of services to aid your new deployment. Military Pay- There are different types of military pay, in addition to regular military pay for duty.
