Technical school is 26 weeks in length and you will work on the most advanced equipment in the world in simulated field conditions and in the classroom. The equipment that a Army systems microwave specialist uses is state of the Art and some of the most advanced electronics and technically advanced gear on the planet. They work with multiplexing and antenna broadcast gear including advanced security communications equipment. Training for an Army Microwave enlisted specialist begins with Army Basic combat training. You will study wiring and line installation techniques, maintenance and preventative loading systems usage, and study security communications procedures and policies. The Army works to make sure that all of its personnel receives correct and timely information, and the microwave enlisted systems specialist is an important member of that team. After 9 weeks of boot camp, you will advance to technical school where you will continue your microwave specialty training. The equipment worked on and maintained by the Army specialist is used to keep track of and direct ship, aircraft and troop movements.
