Helicopters Kept In The Air By Iraqis

Iraqi Airmen Keep Aircraft In The Air

The coalition works hard to train Iraqi Nationals in various security matters, and they also work to train them to maintain their own equipment and helicopters. They provide the materials, and have been endeavoring to give advanced mechanical training to members of the Iraq Army who are already mechanics.

This training will allow the members of the Iraq Army to be able to provide their own repair and mechanical support. The Iraqi Airmen of their Army work on different versions of the MI 17 Hip Helicopter line. It is a type of helicopter that the coalition has provided for the Iraqi Army to use, and the Iraqi Army has used them successfully in a variety of combat operations over the last six to eight months.

The Iraqi Airmen have been gaining skills and training from the Coalition, as members of the Iraqi helicopter repair specialty, they work with members of the 770th Air Expeditionary Advisory Squadron of the US Armed Forces.
