Rashid Displaced Citizens Returning

Coalition Aids Iraqi Families Returning To The Area

There are a number of different families that are heading back into the Iraq nation from Syria, and other regions now that the security has so greatly improved. The families left and fled at the beginning several years ago when the War on Terror first began.

Many areas of Iraq were dangerous, and unable to be safe as insurgents and others had a firm grip, and were terrorizing the population. Because of this, many different families fled and they were able to travel either to other countries, or other regions to live with their own families.

Now, after all of the success that the coalition has had with security, and with giving many regions back to the Iraqi Government, the overall security is much better.

Recently, a number of different families that used to live near FOB Falcon, near southern Baghdad returned. For the most part, they were able to return to their own homes, but in a few cases their homes have been damaged or destroyed, and they will have to rebuild.

Soldiers of the Coalition 1st BCT, 4th infantry are working closely with Security Iraqi forces, to help make sure that the returning families in the Rashid area are able to return to a safe situation.
