Ceremony Observes Grand Opening Of Medical Clinic
The coalition and the Wasit local Iraqi Government celebrated the opening of a new Health clinic in Kut. The Al Jamaheer Provincial Health Clinic was opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony on September 10th.
Many people do not have the ability to travel or the money to go a long distance when they are ill, and the coalition has been focusing on building health clinics and schools since giving over the main responsibilities for security back to the Iraqi Governement.
The Al Jamaheer Provincial Health Clinic is the 7th health clinic completed since 2006 and will give health care to area residents in need.
The completion of the health clinic shows the resolve of the coalition and also the resolve of the Iraqi contractors hired for the project.
The clinic has a number of different exam rooms, a new X-Ray machine, two dental examination stations, along with a laboratory, dental X ray machine and other medical spaces.
Construction of the clinic started 4 years ago but because of terrorist activity and occupation it was halted a number of times. Despite the interruption, the Iraqi contractor returned after a hiatus to complete the work.

The building was repeatedly damaged, so the project has been similar to completion of three projects of the same size. Despite this, the contractor did not ask for additional funds, but worked hard to complete the project with the same amount of money, without billing or seeking additional money.
