There was a number of Iraqi Doctors and Iraqi medical personnel, they were involved and supported in the joint medical engagement. The goal is to assist the medical personnel of Iraq to be able to assume the reins eventually, to build infrastructure and ability so that in the long term the nation will have its own medical doctors, nurses and medical staff to take care of their long term medical needs.

A combined medical event brings medicines, doctors, medics and other personnel to an area that doesn’t normally have resources available to them. These resources serve both to show the way, and to give support to regular Iraqi medical personnel.

The US Navy and US Army both provided doctors and medical personnel, and Coalition forces worked to deliver supplies and other materials to support the medical effort.
