US Air Force Enlisted Radar Operator

Each of the Armed Forces of the United States have radar operators, and they are some of the highest trained personnel in the military. It is one of the more technical based jobs in the US Military. You will work to operate and repair network cable, field telephones, communications electronics and radar systems, and other different Air Force radar equipment. Various other types of skills are necessary for the Air Force Radar Operator to perform. You will work to install, orient, and operate the various types of spotting and radar equipment used by the Air Force.

Working and performing in the Air Force Artillery Radar operator specialty requires a person to access a number of different detailed technician skill sets. It is a technical job specialty that deals with targeting of weapons directed at the enemy. A Radar Air Force technician is responsible for both the operation and repair of the Air Force Radar console. Upon completion of your training you will work to maintain and perform regularly scheduled service on Air Force equipment and help to provide and install camouflage to make sure that equipment in the field is not detected. Math skills, ability to computer and calculate and execute fire commands, basic technical tool and installation skills, and administrative and technical skills. You will learn about ground FMF equipment, radar gear, and various radar assisted weapons systems. As you progress you will eventually be assigned to a Air Force Radar Operator unit, and you will eventually risk in rank and rate. You will be responsible for supervising other Air Force as you become more senior, and assist in training of junior enlisted personnel. To qualify for the post of Air Force Radar Technician you have to score at least a 105 on the GT ASVAB portion of the test, you have to be a HS graduate and a United States Citizen. These are some of the skills necessary for a Radar Air Force Operator. After completion of Air Force basic training you will proceed to advance training for Air Force Radar Operator, where you will work with basic and advanced methods of Radar operation, and systems repair.

There are three major skills needed: Field Observation and Liaison, Firing Battery, and Field Operations. Those are the main areas that a person has to be functional in and a candidate for Air Force Radar operator has to be able to master.
