Soldiers Receive New Vehicles There are a number of MRAP vehicles that have been issued to the coalition, and more are being issued to active front line troops. MRAP stand for Mine Resistant Ambush Protected, and they are vehicles that have v shaped hulls, and other features that protect the occupants from damage. The US Army has MRAP vehicles arriving each week, and they are assigned to troops as they arrive. One of the side benefits, the vehicles such as HumVee vehicles and others that were in use previously by the coalition are being reused, as part of the equipment that is now made available to Iraqi Security Services. The vehicles are unloaded and given to different units, and they are proving very successful. Several different explosions that may have destroyed other vehicles have been encountered over the last few weeks, and in each case the MRAP vehicles have not been damaged. Vehicles are issued at the company level, and they are sometimes issued in numbers as much as 30 at a time. Soldiers that are assigned to the MRAP vehicles are required to train for several days on both different maintenance and operations, then they are able to take the vehicles back to their units. Are you interested in an exciting career in the Military? See if you qualify. Click Here Now! The MRAP vehicles are saving lives, and the old vehicles are left behind at the depot for reprocessing and re assignment eventually to Iraqi units.
